April 4, 2023 Municipal Election Candidate Filing
Elected positions involved in the April 4, 2023 General Municipal Election are the Mayor, three at-large City Council seats for a four year team, and the unexpired term for City Council District 3 to serve the remaining two years of the term.
Candidate Filing & Training Session
The candidate filing period closed on Jan. 23.
The City Clerk hosted candidate training session on January 3, 2023.
The City Clerk is the designated election official and will be conducting this election.
Qualifications to run for City Office
5.1.105: ELECTORS ELIGIBLE TO HOLD MUNICIPAL OFFICE 1 :
Every registered elector twenty five (25) years of age or older on the date of election who has been a resident of Colorado Springs for one year immediately preceding election, is a citizen of the United States, maintains a residence within the district for election as a district Council Member and within the City for election as Mayor or at large Council Member may be a candidate and hold office. Campaign Finance
The campaign finance cycle for this election begins on October 1, 2022 and runs through May 4, 2023. Once a candidate raises or spends $20 or more towards their campaign, they must start filing campaign finance reports. For additional information visit Campaign Finance.
Signs - Campaign Temporary Sign Permits
The City of Colorado Springs requires candidates who are proposing signage that will be posted within the
right of ways submit applications for both Temporary Small and Large sign permits for formal review and approvals.
