Upcoming Stormwater Projects

Thanks to voter support of Ballot Issue 2A, the City continues to invest in stormwater projects that will positively impact neighborhoods around Colorado Springs.

Several large stormwater projects are slated for construction this winter to include 4 new stormwater detention ponds and 3 projects to stabilize channels at various locations around Colorado Springs to prevent erosion, improve water quality and reduce flooding.

These projects are funded through multiple sources, including grants and the new stormwater fee.

Upcoming projects include:

  • Scarborough Detention Pond (near Powers Blvd and Scarborough Drive)
  • East Fork Sand Creek Channel Stabilization (west of Powers Blvd near Airport Road)
  • Rustic Hills Full Spectrum Detention Pond Hills (near Constitution Ave and Murray Blvd)
  • Camp Creek Channel Stabilization (through Rock Ledge Ranch)
  • Rangewood Tributary Detention Pond (near Rangewood Drive and Dublin Blvd)
  • Pine Creek Detention Pond and channel improvements (near Briargate Pkwy and Chapel Hills Drive)
  • Doherty Channel Improvements (Templeton Gap floodway next to Doherty High School)
