In November 2019, Colorado Springs voters approved a five-year extension of the 2C sales tax that generates revenue specifically for road improvements. The extension is at a reduced tax rate of 0.57%, down from 0.62%.

Colorado Springs’ second Signature Street after Tejon Street is now open to the public. Vermijo Street, between Cascade Avenue and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, and Sierra Madre between Cimarron and Colorado avenues are open for foot, vehicle and bicycle traffic.
